30 Weeks

I'm 30 weeks pregnant today- 10 weeks to go! I am trying to decide if that sounds like a lot of time left or hardly anytime! It sort of depends on the day. :) I know things will start going really fast though now that the holiday season is here. Today I am off work on Thanksgiving break which is a great feeling. Five whole days off- yay! Then we head back to work for 3 and a half weeks and then Christmas break will be here!

This morning I had my 30 week appointment with the OB. My regular doctor is out of town this week so I saw a different doctor. It was sort of a frustrating appointment because I had some concerns and questions but he was on call and kept having to leave the room to answer phone calls. He felt really bad and kept apologizing but it was still frustrating because everything felt so scattered!

Anyway, for the past several days I have been having a lot of cramping and lower back pain. I had debated calling in about it earlier this week but decided to stick it out until my scheduled appointment today. I mentioned it to th doctor and he said he needed to check to see if any changes were happening to my cervix. He checked and I am not dilated at all which is of course great news! He said that the cramping is mild contractions which is okay unless it starts causing me to dilate. My cervix is shortening a little but nothing major as of now. He basically described my uterus as "irritable" and just said to watch it and to call if things get worse or of course if I start having timeable contractions. He also did a test to see if I have good odds of going into labor in the next few weeks and I am sure it will be negative since I am not dilated.

Baby's heartbeat was good in the 140s and from what the doctor could feel he/she is still breech. Darn. :( Hoping baby will slip and settle in head down soon! I am now measuring two weeks behind in fundal height. Last appointment two weeks ago I was only a week behind. So its something to watch and he was going to order an ultrasound until I told him I already have one scheduled in two weeks. This was the point in time with Ella that the doctor's noticed I was measuring behind and ordered an ultrasound so I am interested to see how things progress.

Here are the comparison belly pictures for this week. Its hard for me to tell but I still think I was bigger at this point with Ella. Thoughts?

Me with Ella at 30 weeks
And 30 weeks with Baby 2.0

I hope everyone has a wonderful Thanksgiving and safe travels! We are finally feeling like most of the projects around the house are finished and are ready to snuggle in and wait for Baby 2.0 to arrive! I plan to get the tree and Christmas decorations up this week and get ready for the holiday season! I will update again after my next appointment in two weeks! I'll leave you with a funny picture of Franklin- he must really be sensing that I am pregnant because in the past week this has been his constant position! He paws at me until I move whatever is on my lap so he can rest his head on my belly. :)
