16 Weeks!

Well as of yesterday I am 16 weeks pregnant. I like to think of it as four months pregnant because for some reason that sounds farther along. :) I remember back a month or so ago setting a goal for myself just to make it to 16 weeks and here I am! I have started to get a baby belly and am feeling baby quite a bit. I love the little kicks and flutters going on in there reminding me what all this is for! :) I have been having a lot of Braxton Hicks contractions already and did mention this to my doctor and he said it is due to dehydration and my kidneys working harder than normal but nothing to worry about. I had an appointment Wednesday for bloodwork and will see my nurse Monday after work to check levels again.

I started back to work on Tuesday and things are going pretty well. Of course being in a new position I have a lot to learn and it is an adjustment but I think I'm really going to like it. I have of course been extra tired in the evenings and start feeling pretty sick and have headaches which tells me it is time for my IV. I am doing okay so far with one IV but am not feeling quite as hydrated as I did when I was on two. We will see how things go. Tonight I had open house from 5:30-7:30 so am exhausted and just got started with my IV. I have started having much more of an appetite although what I can eat is still tricky. Often old favorites will sound really good but then will make me sick when I eat them. Today I had several hours in the day when I didn't feel nauseous and that was great! I was even able to meet my mom and take her out for lunch for her birthday at Culvers. I had a grilled chicken sandwich and it stayed down. :) However tonight at open house I started feeling pretty sick and did end up throwing up in the staff bathroom. :( A few steps forward a few steps back I guess. Next milestone I am looking forward to is 20 weeks- that is my next official doctors appointment and we will also have an ultrasound and it is also the HALFWAY mark. I think I can, I think I can...
